Redwood City

A vast metropolis. Redwood City is known for its massive wall that surrounds its perimeter. The city is located in the center of a vast desert. There is a river that runs through the middle of the city and divides it into 3 districts, Eins, Zwei, and Drei. There are 5 bridges that connect the Districts at different points. In the southwest quadrant there is a thick forest that the western stem of the river flows through.

Throughout the city there is a complex system of elevated railroads and underground subways. At ground level there are thousands of cars and buses keeping the streets busy. The city is mapped out by an array of streets and avenues. Streets run East to West and Avenues run North and South. The Avenue in the center of the city is named Central Ave.

Triple D's Brick Oven

1102 S 7th Ave, Zwei District

Triple D’s was opened by three brothers. The current owner, Vinicio, is the youngest of the three. Many high school students work here part time. There is a front entrance and a side entrance for employees.

Pilot Part I

Rin Silverton is late for his job at Triple D’s Brick Oven. His boss, Vinicio, withholds his paycheck and gives it to his coworker, Eric, instead. After work, Eric catches up to Rin to hand him his paycheck. When Rin gets home to his apartment building, he sees his friend, Joe Stone, waiting for him and asking why he left school early. Rin is trying to dodge his questions, and then hears a sound, Joe says it could have just been a garbage truck, but Rin recognizes the sound. Rin tells Joe to stay put, and then runs outside. In the ally next to the building, a little girl is being attacked by an Obsidian, the Shadow Plus. Rin defeats the Shadow Plus in two hits and its body disappears, the little girl runs off scared. Joe sees this and demands answers.

Pilot Part II

Back in Rin’s Apartment, Rin shows Joe a few things he had from outside of Redwood City before he first moved here a month ago. Joe takes a lot of interest and wants to help Rin fight Obsidian despite Rin saying no. Rin tells Joe that the Obsidian are dangerous, and he doesn’t want anyone involved that doesn’t have to be. The next day, Rin receives news that his boss, Vinicio, and his co-worker, Eric, were murdered last night cleaning up after closing. Rin blames himself for their deaths. Later that day another Obsidian, the Poison Vine, appears and attacks Rin directly, wounding him slightly. While Rin is losing this battle, he is quickly saved by Sarrah Shadow, after the fight the Poison Vine vanishes and Sarrah tells Rin that now she is ‘going to deal with him’. While holding her sword against his neck, Joe returns with two energy guns he took from Rin the night before.
