Leaving Bradley Beach wasn’t a move I wanted to make. I had settled in, built a routine, and felt like I was finally where I belonged. But circumstances pushed me toward a smaller, cheaper apartment in Asbury Park, and despite my hesitation, I went through with it.
This transition was challenging, but one thing I had going for me was the connections I had built. I still had my friends, opportunities, and creative community, which made the adjustment easier.
Around this time, I also started to have work-from-home capabilities, meaning I could spend more time close to the beach, walking around town, and soaking in the energy of Asbury Park.
Of course, being so close to Mogo proved to be dangerous for my wallet, but some temptations are worth it.
Looking back, it was a tough shift, but every move, wanted or not, shapes the path forward.
