Today was the Suvifern x Asbury Underground Challenge, part of the North2Shore weekend in Asbury Park. The game scattered seven stamp stations across town, and players had to collect them all to complete their passports and earn band points. I was one of those stations, set up at Over The Moon Art Studios during Print‑a‑Palooza. Even though I arrived late and ended up upstairs — a quiet spot that usually gets overlooked — the Survifern players kept the day alive. They came in waves, hunting for stamps, asking questions, and tagging bands on Instagram to rack up points. It was fun watching the challenge unfold from my corner, even if the event itself was slow on sales.
I also debuted my new standing banner, something I’d been wanting for a while and finally pulled the trigger on. It might not have been the ideal event for it, but it still felt good to quietly level up. After the challenge wrapped, I jumped in the ocean to reset, then headed over to see The Foes of Fern play. Not every event is about selling — sometimes it’s about being part of the scene, showing up, and letting the day unfold. This one was all about the game, the movement, and the strange little moments that come with being a stamp guardian in a citywide scavenger hunt.
