Puzzle Challenge at Over The Moon's First Friday

Another month, another unforgettable First Friday at the Asbury Park train station! Hosted by Over The Moon Art Studios, this recurring event has become a staple for local artists, creators, and community members looking to connect over shared passions.

This time felt extra special—I introduced a Survifern puzzle challenge, giving participants a chance to interact with Rin’s Comet in a brand-new way. The puzzle consisted of individual panels from Part I, and each participant took on the challenge one at a time, testing their memory of the story as they pieced the sequence together. Seeing people immerse themselves in the puzzle, exchanging ideas, and getting excited about the comic was incredibly rewarding.

The atmosphere was elevated by incredible live performances from Cory Blair, Forever King Clark, and Jenna Ro, whose acoustic sets filled the space with rich musical ambiance. Their artistry added to the immersive experience, making the event feel like more than just a gathering—it was a moment where creativity, storytelling, and music blended seamlessly.

Having a puzzle station brought a lot of energy to the table—it created an interactive way for people to engage with Rin’s Comet beyond just flipping through the pages. It was a dynamic addition to the event that encouraged participation, conversation, and excitement.

Beyond the puzzle and performances, the energy of First Friday was electric as always. Familiar faces stopped by, new conversations sparked, and the creative pulse of Asbury Park was alive and well. Each month reminds me why I show up—not just to promote Rin’s Comet, but to be part of a growing community that supports independent artists and storytellers.

Until next month—thanks to everyone who joined in, supported the event, and brought their unique energy to the space!
