After last year’s rainout, Steph of Broken Rainbow invited me to vend with her at the Downtown Somerville Street Fair, and luckily, the weather held up this time. The fair brought in a solid crowd, and it was great to finally get a chance to set up.
It was my first time vending in Somerville, but the location had a familiar connection—it was close to a comic shop I used to visit back when I lived in Highland Park. That small detail made the experience feel a bit more personal, as if I had circled back to a place tied to my love for comics and storytelling.
I had a smaller table, keeping things simple, but my new sticker packs were the main focus. They got some attention, which was nice, though vending always has its ups and downs. Some moments felt slow, but that’s part of the experience—you never really know how the day will go.
While it wasn’t the busiest event, it was good to be out there again, getting my work in front of people.
